There Goes That Flag!

There She Goes. There goes our Flag. She's been tested once again.

Heroes emerged in every lane and rushed to quickly douse the flames.

A sky so bright, a day's delight, the skyline, sublime and perfectly right until that deadly flight that brought the nightmare just after dawn's earlylight.

Emboldened terrorists, pernicious fools, destroyed the towers, but lit the light. Some captives gone, and heroes none too few, will rise again for whatis right.

There she goes, our mighty flag, slightly tattered, a little torn, her nation scorned Falling debris, structures gone, but from fiery smoke ournation was reborn.

Sirens blared, fire trucks roared, policemen dashed, a human train was formed Heroes all, those who are gone and those who remain, for victory's refrain.

A second blast, the fires of hell, the steel supports vanished, the skyline fell Another dash through the canyon of death by the heroes of freedom's well.

The buildings gone, a horrific sight, but still the heroes ignore the plight out of the dust, on a pile of rust, the colors emerge and the sky becomes bright.

Watch New York and Virginia too as the spirits rise in unison without surprise. A tragic day with heavy cost while countless families shed tears without disguise.

For those who noticed and those who did not, behind those tears there was no fear. It was the unyielding American spirit, invincible will and un-paralleled American ideals.

Americans can and will, with the grace of God, stand as the grand light of liberty. She will ensure that freedom's beacon will never be extinguished by terrorism.

The buildings will rise again to unfurl the Stars and Stripes. The tears of sadness will be transformed into tears of pride and joy as Americans pay tribute to their fellow Americans who gave their lives that those of us who remain might finally become aware of the evils that continue to imperil freedom throughout the world.
