Talk about deteriorating sand bags,, At B-56 in 1967,
someone decided to buy a small herd of goats. It was believed
that not
only would they cost nothing to feed, as they would be used as lawn
mowers. But they could supplement the indigenous mess hall
diet with
milk and meat. Things went to hell immediately on the goats arrival.
They delighted in playing 'King of The Hill' on anything that they
could
get up on. They really mutilated the sandbags that were stacked
up over
various and sundry objects around the camp. After the troops had
feasted
on the goats, they had to pay by replacing all the damaged bags.
Another lesson learned, the hard way.
