"I miss it still"

Yes I would do it again if I could. For the
most part, and unlike many others I got to do pretty much as I wanted, I
loved the 82nd as a youngster learning from the guys who jumped in combat .
A platoon Sgt at 20years of age in combat, I worked as an instructor at
Jump school for 4 and 1/2 years. I was solicited to join Sf and became Halo
chief, Original menber of B 52 and Golden Knights, scuba committiee chief,
Intel school, O&I, many others, 3 A teams, Team Sgt on two, Group Op sgt,
Battalion CSM of an Airborne BN, IMA CSM, JFK CSM. Korea and Nam, not much
compared to others but I enjoyed it, cost me one wife but I found a better
one. what I miss most of all is the discipline and quality of the troops I
was privledged to serve with and some times lead. I miss it still. The
worst part was putting good men in body bags, still not all the way over
that, but I guess no one is. Had no desire to be an Officer. Saw a large
part of the world at Sams expensce, loved it dont even regret the 5 PHs
   either.
