I grew up, looking at the "South end of a North bound mule,
and knew I was
getting off that farm as soon as I was 17. A "Cuz"
bailed out of a burning
bomber over Germany and convinced me that the only
way to go was Abn. SF
was the best thing that happened to me in the Army.
Just wished that I had
asked about the unit instead of where it was being
formed. When I left
Bragg in 48 I swore I would never go back. Talk about
cutting your nose of
to spite your face. When I joined SF I felt like kicking
my ass all the way
back to Bragg. No better men anywhere than those that
were there because
they wanted to be and not there just to get their "ticket"
punched.Would do
it again in a heart beat.
