I left their house at one in the morning
The route – unfamiliar, and I had been drinking.
“T.J., you’ve got to stay and get some rest. “
But, I had to leave-others would be worrying.
Our small group had shared good times and bad.
Recalling Bunker, Camelot, and Wagontrain,
NCOIC, Quixote, Wench and Ghost,
Grizzly, and Thootie-memories that forever remain.
My two hour drive stretched into three,
interrupted half way for a short snooze.
A half hour later, continued to Phoenix,
while thinking of roles we would choose.
My warmest moment – was BadEye’s send off
a manly show of expression-a hug around my shoulder.
A kiss on my cheek was the greatest surprise.
John’s expression of love, I will always remember.
