  Gentlemen,
The 9th Infantry Division Band landed at the 5th Special Forces Airfield at
Can Tho sometime during the second quarter of 1969. I photographed their USSF waiting
room, airfield, and control tower (the tower had a red winged torch insignia on one of its
  walls).

The waiting room building was adorned with
Special Forces Vietnam insignia (unauthorized). There was also a sign
indicated that this building was a helicopter air operations office. The
airfield was spartan and looked fairly new. The runway and flight line were
PSP. Opposite the control tower and waiting room, some distance away, were
three hangers (one under construction) with "Slicks" present. History
records only two airfields in the Can Tho area. I have checked out the
photographs on the web for Can Tho. Both the Army airfield at Can Tho and
the Navy airfield at Binh Theuy look totally different.
Any ideas where I took my photographs?
