SCOTT,
Michael George - Staff Sergeant, 1st, 5th and 7th US Army Special Forces
(Airborne). Vietnam Veteran, MACV-SOG 1967-1968, 1969-1972 (Project
Delta 67/68, FANK 71/72 and survivor of the Siege of Khe Sanh) “Scotty”
was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and talked his
grandmother into driving him to Watertown, New York to enlist in the
U.S. Army. He spent nearly 10 years in the Army, most of which was with
Special Forces. “Scotty” passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the
age of 66. He was the son of the late Dr. George D. Scott and Madeline (McNevin)
Scott. He is survived by his wife Christine, two daughters, Lynda McCoy
and Genevieve Scott, two step children, SGM Michael Hetzler and
Catherine Burns and three grandsons, Colby, Josh, and Cameron Roy. He is
also survived by seven siblings; Miss Jane Scott, Dr. Duncan Scott,
Geoffrey Scott, Patrick Scott, Megan Vanderlee, George D. Scott, Jr.,
and Eliza Jane Scott Banville. A memorial service was held in the Chapel
of the James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston, Ontario on Sunday, November
21, 2010, and burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington,
Virginia, on March 18, 2011. Any memorial donations should be made to
