WE DO NOT COME HERE TODAY TO BID WELL FAREWELL TO OUR COMRADE.

WE COME TO UPHOLD HIS LIFE IN HONOR, AND TO REMEMBER HIM IN BROTHERHOOD.

IT IS FOR THE FAMILY TO RECALL HIS LOVE AND HUMANITY, HIS WIT AND WISDOM, HIS JOYS AND SORROW, IT IS US, HIS BROTHERS IN ARMS TO RECALL HIS LOYALTY, HIS HEROISM, AND HIS PROFESSIONALISM. AS SHAKESPEARE SAID IN PART, "WE FEW, WE HAPPY FEW, WE BAND OF BROTHERS, FOR HE TODAY THAT SHEDS HIS BLOOD WITH ME SHALL BE MY BROTHER." WE COULD NOT MUSTER TO THE LAST PATROL WITH YOU DEAR BROTHER, BUT WE TRUST THAT YOU WILL RECON WELL AND BIVOUAC THERE TO WAIT FOR US TO FOLLOW.

FAREWELL, WE'LL TEAM AGAIN, FAREWELL
